Hello friends!

I’m Zada — I started Wow Wee Sheets in 2016 as a tiny side gig while toilet training my toddler girl (that’s us in the photo, she was about three!). Back then we were living in Hong Kong, and I set it up to sell what was useful to me, to my friends and their friends. We’ve since relocated to Melbourne, Australia, and despatch is now from Melbourne.

Since then, the sheets have helped my sister’s elderly dog and my ageing dad too — turns out life has plenty of stages that could use a little extra protection. Along the way I’ve taught myself shipping, packaging and design, and I’m still learning! My real passion is helping other women and families, and I hope to grow this into partnerships, affiliate programs and community fundraisers. My values: sustainability, doing what I say, and living life authentically.

I set this up to help sleep-deprived parents get a better night’s sleep while toilet training kids. If your preschooler is dry most nights but has the occasional accident, you’re at the right place.

If you’re the parent of a late bed wetter, a special needs child, or a child with reflux — or if you experience heavy menstrual periods or post-partum/operation bleeding, or you’re a pawparent — you’re all very welcome here!

I hate a hard sell, and I never actually intended to start a business. I began with a Facebook page just to show friends my stock — no website, no marketing plan, and the name “Wow Wee Waterproof Sheets” came courtesy of my friend’s 9-year-old son, Jonah! Back then, payment was by cash or barter for other useful things, delivery was me or pick-up, and marketing was strictly Mum-to-Mum. It was a wonderful way to meet new friends, if a little cumbersome — and I’m grateful to those early customers for supporting me through it!

I held my first pop-up in November 2017, and the response was so positive (“OMG, why don’t you sell online?!”) that I set my sights on having a website by the following Christmas. It took far longer than planned, because I was paralysed by indecision chasing perfection — but thanks to mindfulness and meditation, I’ve finally learned to let it go and embrace imperfection. So if you spot an error on the website, please help me out and let me know!

My vision is to use this as a vehicle to help other everyday mums and dads flourish — whether that’s using Wow Wee themselves or fundraising for their favourite project, or building a little income by selling it.

I volunteer with Buddhist communities whose aim is to share practical techniques for recognising the natural goodness and capability within us, and using that to better the world.

I am also :

  • Gaining my licence as an anywhere-anytime meditation teacher

Underneath it all, my aim is a simple one: share good knowledge, good teachings, and good products — and help the world connect with good people.

I also love this planet and hold the 5Rs close (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle), I dabble in dip pen calligraphy, I’m always chasing good food, and I love hosting cultural tours.
